THEY BELIEVE
THAT THE HAVES CLASS EXPLOIT THE HAVES NOT CLASS.
AND THE WHOLE
SOCIETY IS DIVIDED IN THE HAVES AND HAVESNOT.
THEY WANTED
THE CLASSLESS SOCIETY.
GANDHI’S VIEW ON COMMUNISM
GANDHI JI SAID THAT HE
ALSO WANT TO EARDICATE THE EVIL OF THE |
|
|
|
SOCIETY ( INEQUALITY OF HIGH AND LOW CLASS) |
|
•
BUT HE DOES WANT IT TO BE
DONE BY REVOLUTION. |
•
• HE SAID THAT
HE DOESN’T KNOW WHETHER THE RESULTS OF BOLSHEVIK REVOLUTION IS GOOD FOR THE
LONG RUN IN RUSSIA OR NOT.
HE DOES NOT BELIVE IN SHORT VIOLENT CUTS. |
•
CONT…
• HE SAID THAT THE RUSSIAN COMMUNISM IS NOT GOOD FOR INDIA.
AND HE BELIEVE IN NON-
VIOLENT COMMUNISM WHERE NO |
|
|
|
REVOLUTION. |
|
•
HE SAID THAT IF COMMUNISM
CAME WITHOUT VIOLENCE THEN I |
|
|
|
WILL WELCOME IT IN INDIA. |
|
•
• BOLSHEVIK USES FORCE, SO IT DOES NOT LAST LONG.
CONT…
• As far as Gandhi’s ideas on Communism are concerned, though he
appreciated its ability to organize masses, he was disappointed that it leads
to the establishment of dictatorship.
• For a Gandhian, an alternative to communism is to establish a
society wherein the instruments of production are simple and that the common
man could play them in the villages
CONT..
• He wanted the capitalists and the landlords act as trustees
holding their wealth for the good of their villages, workers and the peasants.
He
further believed that is much easier to change an institution than |
|
|
|
a man. |

TRUSTEESHIP
CRITICISED. BY M.N. ROY |
•
•
Gandhi stated that rich cannot accumulate wealth without the
cooperation of the poor; and therefore, if the poor does not cooperate with the
rich they naturally mend their ways.
CONT..
•
According to Gandhi, for a real Swaraj to be established, it is
not that one class rule be substituted by the other. It is much more than that.
Gandhi strongly believed
that Western socialism and |
|
communism had a strong
sense of selfishness. |
